Hopefully I don't bust more than "my Move"......
Those of you that know me,,, can appreciate how uncoordinated I am and that this new event will be quite challenging. Just imagine me trying to do yoga and Zumba, on a small mat, with hundreds of people around me (tee hee).
The 60-kilometre walk may have changed but our conviction remains the same. The Itty Bitty Titty Committee is now participating in
Bust a Move for Breast Health and we could really use your support.
My reasons for participating are numberous. Many very important ladies in my life have fought this battle - unfortunately mother lost hers at 51. I am determined to help those men and women, battling it now, to win!!!!!
Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in Canadian women and the second leading cause of cancer related deaths. And it's not isolated to women: it is estimated that 190 new cases of breast cancer will be diagnosed in Canadian men in 2012.
Until we find a cure, the most powerful tools we have at our disposal are early detection and screening and quick access to the most recent research and technology. I am proud to tell you that the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation is working to promote breast health and breast health awareness through initiatives geared towards reducing wait times, increasing access to research and new therapies, providing world class care close to home, and improving quality of life for those affected by cancer.
Thank you for your ongoing support and consideration. If you would like to join our team or make a donation - your efforts are greatly appreciated and will help make a difference.
Terri
