Support My Participation In "Bust a Move™" - Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation
I am participating in
Bust a Move™ for Breast Health this year and I need your support.
My reasons for participating are simple; breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in Canadian women and the second leading cause of cancer related deaths. As you know I have participated in the "Weekend To End Womens' Cancers" in 2010 and 2011 in memory of my Mother-in-law
Belva Webster and my two wonderful Sister-in-Laws
Lynn Tremblay and
Jennifer Webster (passed away December 2009).
Since the Weekend To End Womens Cancer walk ended for Ottawa in June 2011, I have decided on April 21, 2012, I will be Busting a Move™ for Breast Health . Join me in making breast health a priority by making a donation to my campaign or by busting a move with me.
Although it's called Bust a Move™ for Breast Health, it goes beyond Breast Cancer and supports initiatives that have been used by survivors and their family and friends who are caregivers, namely programs and coaching at the Maplesoft Centre. Through special events (like Bust a Move™) and fundraising initiatives, the Cancer Foundation supports the following programs that focus on women’s health.
I will Bust a Move™ in memory of Belva, Lynn, Jennifer, Betty Richardson, Jean Wright, Ann Marie McLellan, Kim Rochon, Madeline Haynes, Liz (Rene) Badgerow(Ross) Alice McClymont, Lynn Skillings and Mark McLean).
My positive energy and thoughts will go out to many of my friends that are in their own journeys with cancer: Monique, Jackie, Iggy, Kim, Sharon, T-Jay, Frankie, Sheila, Shannon, Kathy, Wendy, Denise, my male family & friends: Uncle Fred, Carl, Geza, Ed, Bevan, Sid, for co-workers, and for all those known to you I will MOVE!!
Until we find a cure, the most powerful tools we have at our disposal are early detection and screening and quick access to the most recent research and technology. I am proud to tell you that the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation is working to promote breast health and breast health awareness through initiatives geared towards reducing wait times, increasing access to research and new therapies, providing world class care close to home, and improving quality of life for those affected by cancer.
We need the cure against cancer so our children and their children do not face a cancer journey!!
